Uvalde police, faculty district not cooperating with Texas probe of shooting: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent Faculty District police power are no longer cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Safety's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College and the state's evaluation of the legislation enforcement response, multiple law enforcement sources inform ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Unbiased School District didn't immediately reply to requests for remark from ABC Information.

Based on sources, the decision to stop cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday throughout which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the incorrect resolution" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC News, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Security stated, "The Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police provided an preliminary interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of many worst school shootings in U.S. history, left 19 children and two adults useless.
