Speaking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I really feel better in regards to the route of our country."
In a weblog post, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's management is dedicated to representing its people's finest interests and whether the USA is really "the land of the free and the home of the courageous.""We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."
"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I might have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it be identified through protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' series towards the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.
"Within the final 10 days, we've had aged Black individuals killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we now have children murdered at college," Kerr told reporters at the start of the press convention.
"When are we going to do one thing? I am drained. I'm so tired of getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are on the market ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
