Florida man will get life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, in keeping with officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different times in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom data say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English instructor.

Among the boys, in keeping with the DOJ, were lured with guarantees of money and presents. Others introduced him as their English instructor.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was a part of Undertaking Secure Childhood, which was an effort to seek out baby intercourse abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The legal guidelines of america will still catch as much as baby predators who even journey to overseas countries to sexually abuse minor children. Thanks to HSI’s international investigative authorities and strong partnerships, both at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh Metropolis, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming extra youngsters and his victim may have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas, in keeping with a news release from said HSI Tampa Assistant Particular Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded responsible to two counts of journey with intent to interact in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into illegal sexual activity, in response to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in prison.
