Florida man will get life in prison for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, in keeping with officers.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom data say he flew backwards and forwards disguising himself as an English instructor.

Among the boys, in keeping with the DOJ, have been lured with promises of cash and gifts. Others launched him as their English trainer.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was part of Mission Secure Childhood, which was an effort to search out child sex abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the US will still catch as much as little one predators who even journey to foreign countries to sexually abuse minor kids. Because of HSI’s international investigative authorities and powerful partnerships, each at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming extra kids and his sufferer will have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge John Dumas, in keeping with a information release from stated HSI Tampa Assistant Particular Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded guilty to 2 counts of travel with intent to have interaction in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into illegal sexual exercise, in line with the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
