LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC/Grey Information) - An incident that concerned gamers from a university’s lacrosse group and deputies in Georgia stays below investigation.

WTOC stories Delaware State University President Tony Allen launched an announcement on Monday responding to the incident that reportedly happened on April 20 in Liberty County.

Allen wrote Georgia legislation enforcement stopped a bus for a minor traffic violation with the Delaware State Lacrosse staff on board. Deputies searched the belongings of the student-athletes, including suitcases with drug-sniffing dogs.

“100% you'll be able to’t be in that left lane in any respect,” said a Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The group was returning home from a sport in Florida and traveling by a contracted bus, based on Allen.

Liberty County Sheriff William Bowman held a news convention about the incident but took no questions. He claimed that no personal gadgets on the bus have been searched.

Body camera video obtained by WTOC, nevertheless, clearly showed the deputies going by the scholars’ luggage and even treatment.

The university president wrote in his statement that movies taken by players showed regulation enforcement making an attempt to intimidate them into confessing to possession of drugs and/or drug paraphernalia.

“They didn’t actually ask us,” stated Sydney Anderson, a Delaware State Lacrosse Participant. “They knowledgeable us of what they’re gonna do and nobody questioned them...we just allow them to rattle by means of our stuff.”

A player on the bus requested: “How did we go from being in the unsuitable lane to going by way of our luggage?”

A deputy responded: “Well, he stopped y’all, he didn’t stop y’all for a traffic violation...he stopped the driver for a traffic violation.”

Nothing illegal was discovered in the search, and Allen knowledgeable the general public that he has contacted Delaware’s governor, the Black Caucus and different state officials.

Allen wrote that everyone was incensed over the incident.

Allen also added the next:

“We don't intend to let this or some other incident like it go idly by. We're prepared to go wherever the evidence leads us. Now we have video. We've allies. Perhaps extra significantly, we've the braveness of our convictions.”

Allen concluded his statement by writing, “We will never be bullied into believing anything other than what we are: Individuals, learners, teachers, builders—helpful and honorable people ready to soar.”
