Uvalde police, college district no longer cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Division and the Uvalde Unbiased School District police power are no longer cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Security's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College and the state's assessment of the law enforcement response, multiple regulation enforcement sources inform ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial College District didn't immediately reply to requests for remark from ABC Information.

In accordance with sources, the decision to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday during which he said the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the improper determination" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC News, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Security said, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police provided an preliminary interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days ago."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of the worst school shootings in U.S. historical past, left 19 children and two adults lifeless.
