Teen arrested after mother observed son had gun at Texas faculty drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - Several agencies responded to a middle college in Texas Friday morning after a teen’s mother noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty around 9 a.m. when she noticed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it inside the building, and he ran from the college.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area together with a number of other agencies in an attempt to seek out him.
The teenager was found near the varsity’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old could be going through a felony weapons cost.
Police say there was no menace made to the school or anyone inside the school.
O.L. Slaton Center Faculty was briefly positioned on lockout on account of the incident.
