Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s women to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized energy.
“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's traditional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.
“These girls who should not too outdated or younger should cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, as a way to keep away from provocation when assembly men who are usually not mahram (grownup shut male relatives),” the decree stated.
It added that if women had no essential work outdoors it was “better they stay at dwelling.”
During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on women.
