Russian spy aircraft violates Swedish air area

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft briefly violated Sweden’s airspace on Friday, Swedish protection officers stated on Saturday, as the Scandinavian nation ponders a bid for NATO membership after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“A Russian AN-30 propeller airplane violated Swedish airspace on Friday evening,” the Swedish protection ministry stated in a statement, including that its teams had followed the incident and photographed it.
The ministry said the aircraft was flying east of Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic, before it headed towards Swedish territory.
“It is completely unacceptable to violate Swedish airspace,” public television SVT quoted Protection Minister Peter Hultqvist as saying.
“This motion is unprofessional and given the overall security situation very inappropriate. Swedish sovereignty should all the time be revered.”
