Man arrested in reference to “school shooter” signs found in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "school shooter" were present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety introduced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of charges. 

An increased quantity of police officers had been placed at schools in the communities as a result of the indicators. Multiple schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs across the communities, the Division of Security said, however they determined there isn't a credible risk at the moment.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The protection department released a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor prices together with false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and legal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged right now.
