Newly released body digicam video reveals deputies in Warren County, Virginia, slammed a 77-year-old man into a pickup truck and tackled him to the bottom. He died 13 days later.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office initially mentioned Ralph Ennis had fallen over the trailer hitch of his truck and hit his head through the arrest on April 2 outside a 7-Eleven near Entrance Royal. Deputies had pulled him over for driving erratically and dashing, authorities mentioned.

The sheriff's office stated Ennis had non-life threatening injuries after the autumn.

Nonetheless, physique camera video from a Front Royal police officer who was at the scene exhibits a Warren County deputy run toward Ennis, who appeared to be stumbling round. The deputy then grabs Ennis and slams him face-forward into the back of Ennis' red pickup truck, which had a camper high connected. Then, he and one other deputy seem to deal with Ennis to the bottom.

She said the body digicam video confirmed a different state of affairs than what the sheriff's office had previously advised her.

"It was very troublesome to look at. I wish that I hadn't watched it now," she stated.

Linda Ennis said her late husband had recently begun combating dementia and was the topic of a Silver Alert in mid-March.

Warren County Sheriff Mark Butler instructed News4 he stands by the preliminary assertion his workplace released.

The Entrance Royal officer's report said, however, the deputy "jerked the male round" and "slammed the male into the camper prime face first."

"It was means overkill. Just - none of that was mandatory," Linda Ennis stated.

The medical examiner has not launched Ennis' reason for dying.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Workplace said deputies started following Ralph Ennis that morning because he was going 63 in a 55 and driving erratically. The sheriff's workplace said he didn’t come to cease until about 4 miles.

Ennis followed commands to get out of the truck, however then refused orders to drop his keys and put his arms behind his back, the sheriff's office stated.

Virginia State Police are investigating the arrest.
