CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The parents of a 6-year-old marathoner are talking out after they say child protective providers paid their family an unannounced visit and questioned their children at house.

Ben and Kami Crawford shared a photograph on Instagram Sunday purportedly of considered one of their children being interviewed by a CPS staffer. In the accompanying caption, they wrote partially, "Yesterday Child Protective Services (CPS) arrived at our dwelling unannounced and interviewed our kids, dad and mom & grandmother. This is a scary process because usually children are interrogated away from parents, in opposition to their will, and their answers decide the agency's legal right to take away the youngsters."


The Crawfords made headlines last week after they let their youngsters, together with their son Rainier, 6, run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati on May 1 and shared it online. Their May 3 Instagram put up specifically sparked outcry from social media users, with some critics going so far as to accuse the Crawfords of kid abuse.

Campbell County, Kentucky, District Attorney Steve Franzen confirmed to "Good Morning America" that child services had visited the Crawfords, but stated no dedication had been made but within the investigation.

Ben and Kami Crawford addressed critics' accusations in a prolonged Instagram video Saturday.

"The real stuff that we obtained accused of was dragging Rainier, like physically dragging him on the marathon course after mile 13 and throughout the end line," Ben Crawford stated.

"For those who guys have seen our end line picture, we all held arms for just like the final probably, like, .2, .3 miles," he added. "We talked about it forward of time, like that's what we'll do."

I don't know who wants to listen to this but a six 12 months old cannot fathom what a marathon will do to them physically. A six yr outdated does not understand what embracing misery is. A six year who's "struggling bodily" doesn't realize they've the best to stop and should.

The Crawfords preserve their 6-year-old needed to run all alongside and stand by their resolution to let the young boy run 26.2 miles.

"I do not know if I must be offended. I like to imagine that persons are doing the very best that they'll. They are not making an attempt to wreck our life or, you know, they most likely are legit afraid for our children. But additionally, it's like, the place's the road?" Ben Crawford asked.

Specialists say a marathon is a critical bodily feat for anybody and it might take a toll on a baby.

"If a younger youngster were to run a marathon, I'm fearful about electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, heatstroke, all these signs and symptoms that is probably not that clear in a younger baby," Dr. Alok Patel previously informed "GMA."

Youngsters might have a tougher time recognizing warning signs of dehydration, exhaustion or other crimson flags. Dad and mom and caregivers should consult with a child's pediatrician before a toddler is permitted to have interaction in any strenuous exercise.
